Join us for a powerful and insightful Senior Living Empower Hour as we celebrate SAGE (Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders) and SAGECare, pioneers and mavericks in advocating for LGBTQ+ older adults. Since its founding in 1978, SAGE has been at the forefront of providing resources, training, and advocacy to ensure that LGBTQ+ elders receive the dignity, respect, and culturally competent care they deserve.

As the number of LGBTQ+ adults aged 65 and older is set to double by 2030, many senior living providers and caregivers still lack the training and awareness needed to create welcoming, affirming communities. This session will explore the history and mission of SAGE, the groundbreaking SAGECare cultural competency training program, and the impact their work has had on elder care policies, housing, and services.

Attendees will gain firsthand insight into the challenges LGBTQ+ seniors face, the importance of cultural competency training, and how organizations can take actionable steps to foster inclusivity. We’ll also share real-life stories demonstrating how SAGECare training has transformed care settings and improved the lives of LGBTQ+ elders.
